Icelandic sheepskins

They are hot. You see them in every sofa, in every interior magazine. I can understand that, because it’s love at first sight – icelandic sheepskins. I have found ecological sheepskins, coming from free sheep in the Icelandic nature. You can buy theme at Malin inredare webshop.

Icelandic sheepskins, long hair and short hair. So beautiful!

Monochromatic wall and cabinet

A old characteristic cabinet harminically matching the wall when painted in the same color. Makes the room bigger and the cabinet seems smaller.

Christmas in two weeks

Only two weeks! We have to get a christmastree today, and some christmas food with that to get in the mood.

I fixed that, a bit stressed, thinking that time flies and all of a sudden Christmas eve is here. But after decorating the tree, leaning back in the sofa it hit me:  it’s TWO weeks left, and maybe too early for chistmas decorations…

Brown sofa and suns on the wall

Currently working on a really fun project. A newly built apartment is to be furnished from scratch. When decorating for others you have to put your own style aside and plan for furniture, wallpaper, lamps and color schemes that you probably wouldn’t have chosen for your own home. But I’m sitting here falling for this apartment’s mood board – starting to look at my home with different eyes. The decorators eyes…

Relaxing sofa

This sofa makes my design heart go boom, boom, boom. From HK Living catalog – the Dutch know how to do it! It’s the cowboy feeling that makes me knees weak and together with blue … Kaboom.

Have a nice weekend.

Marine interior design

If you want to create a lovely, light marine atmosphere in your home, I recommend that you stick to three colors: white, dark brown and blue in different tones. Red can be used as an accent color, and if you really want to stick out use orange. By balancing the proportions of white and dark brown you can change the appearance of the room. Then add different marine interior details. They must have a real marine look, no mainstream stuff from your local interior shop. I have collected some favorites below.

Example 1: white walls, white painted floor/light ship deck, white vertical wooden panel, marine inspired beige or blue wallpaper, and finally a white sofa and armchair. Coffee table and side board can be dark brown, pillows mainly blue maybe an occasional red.

Example 2: white walls, white/blue sofa and armchair, dark brown floor, coffee table and sideboard.

Here you can see examples of some fantastic interior details with a marine look. Below you finds links to the web shops that sell the items.
